December 28, 2012 San Diego

We have been parked in our cousins’ driveway a lot longer than we originally thought we would be.  All through the summer we were training for the HVAC job, and by the time we realized it would not materialize, Thanksgiving was just around the corner.  It seemed a shame to leave then, and then came Christmas.  We had some wonderful times celebrating with the family, but now it’s time to get back on the road.  We are so very grateful to the Burns and Booth clans for allowing us to come into their lives for such a long  time and making us feel so welcome.

It took a couple of days to get ready to move again; we had off-loaded stuff to the garage and porch to make room for the renovations.  But eventually we got it all back into the RV, and Friday we headed south to San Diego to visit Randy’s brother Butch.  We parked in our usual place - Sweetwater Regional Park.  It’s a nice county park that recently added a lot of 50 amp sites.  It’s close to Butch and even closer to his son Michael, so it’s a good location for us.

Butch’s wife Lina does most of the Christmas decorating at their house, but Butch decorates the tree.  And he really likes tree decorations!
It turned out to be a great time to visit because the whole family was in town.  Butch’s son and daughter and their families were there, as well as the grand-daughter Butch and Lina raised, with her family.  We had planned to leave early on Sunday but we learned that the three great-grand children were going to be baptized in the Sunday morning service, so we stayed for the baptism.  It was so nice to be able to share that event with them.
