Arriving in Las Vegas 6/23

Yesterday we left Riverside around 5 pm to drive to Las Vegas. Somewhere after Baker one of our RV tires started losing air. There is not much on the road, after Baker; gas stations are around 30 miles apart. We stopped twice to air it up and by 9 pm we made it to the Oasis RV Resort, just south of Vegas. This morning Randy put more air in again and drove the RV to a place where we could get it fixed.
We learned that the problem is the same one we experienced on another tire last week. The valve stem extender was leaking air. This time we had all of them replaced.
We have been using these without any issues since we started RVing in 2009.  I don't know why they are having problems now, but in the future we will avoid them.
Now with the work for the day over, it was time for the good stuff! We started with lunch at Pampas, a Brazilian Grill.  The salad bar included mushrooms, fried bananas, pasta salads, salami, plus normal salad stuff that Randy likes. Just like Lambert's Cafe, servers come to the table and offer more food. Their "pass-arounds" include chicken, shrimp, salmon, mussels, ham and sirloin steak. And I finally found a drink I like - it's called a Caipirinha. And for dessert, this lovely thing - a thin little brownie topped with a massive amount of chocolate mousse.
Then on to the Imperial Spa, for soaking and steaming and sauna-ing; a few hours later we felt totally relaxed.

Wow it's hot here! Our car sullenly refused to record the correct temperature, showing 90 degrees when we knew darn well it was hotter than that. Eventually it displayed 109 degrees. Even without humidity, that's hot! The car air conditioner ran well but it didn't seem to make us feel cooler. Then the sun set, and within minutes it felt wonderfully cool. It was still 103 outside, but just getting out of the sun made all the difference.

We finished the day in the pool, where the water is warm but the night air was cooler.

Tomorrow it's supposed to get to 111...
